The Madras Chamber, as part of its initiative “Food for Thought” which provides a platform for open discussions and interactions, is organizing a FFT on “Is RERA still under construction?” on 15^th June 2019 at Hotel Raintree, Anna Salai, Chennai.

The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA), intends to protect the interests of home buyers, enhance transparency and boost investments in the real estate sector. Two years after the enactment of the Act,. it is understood that around 22 states and six Union Territories have already notified their RERA rules. However there are still questions like those below asked often:

 ·         Has RERA kept up its promise of safeguarding the end users       
           against malpractices?   

·         Has RERA emerged as a symbol of consumer empowerment?

·         How does RERA square up with our legal system?

·         What is the impact on real estate sector?

and so on…

This FFT is organized by the Chamber to discuss the above questions and more and ponder over the topic.
