The Chamber has arranged for an Interactive meeting with H.E. Mr.Artis Bertulis, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to India, on 26^th  February 2019 between 4.30 pm and 6 pm followed by Hi tea, at the MCCI Conference room.

India and Latvia established diplomatic relations in 1991, following the independence of Latvia. Bilateral relations between Latvia and India are developing through high level visits in recent years. Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis of Latvia during his visit to India stated that Latvia wants to “widen and deepen the economic cooperation with India” while seeking to revive the ‘Amber Way’ — an ancient route that linked India and Latvia. The International North South Transport Corridor ( INSTC) along with Riga, Latvia’s biggest ice free sea port where 98% of the cargo handled are transit goods, could make Latvia a gateway for Indian goods entering Northern Europe, the Baltic region and Belarus.

Other than logistics, India can also explore opportunities in the fields of Education, Pharma, tourism among others with Latvia.

H.E.Mr. Artis Bertulis, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to India,  would be accompanied by Mr. N.Ramachandran, Honorary Consul, Republic of Latvia.
